A game about checking your sources.

The life of a chat moderator is a grueling one. As a moderator of popular influencer and react streamer Jan “JaNews”, your duties involve fact-checking every single article submitted during streams (Jan unfortunately takes most information at face level). Can you successfully navigate the web and avoid controversy?

Gameplay: 

This game requires the use of a web browser

Gameplay will involve the player reviewing a number of web article headlines. Some of the articles will be real events/news articles that actually exist, and some will be entirely false. It’s your job as the moderator to figure out which is which.

If you answer correctly, Jan’s viewer count will go up. If you answer incorrectly, chat will riot, and you will receive a strike. Three strikes will result in game over. Of course you will be on a time limit, because chat hungers for content. As the moderator of a massive react streamer with terrible media literacy it’s your job to answer the age old question: “Chat, is this real?”

Content Warning: This game contains references to serious real world news events. The game also contains references to some harmful conspiracy theories and hoaxes. This game does not intend to spread these messages, but rather to highlight the importance of debunking them.
